Describe your biz in a sentence
DanicaB PR is a strategic communications agency specialising in high-impact PR, crisis management, and reputation-building for leaders, brands, and businesses ready to be seen, heard, and remembered.
Tell us how your business came to be
DanicaB PR was born from a deep belief that powerful storytelling and sharp strategy can shift perceptions, open doors, and change outcomes. After years working across government, media, and corporate landscapes, I saw a gap, leaders and businesses needed more than just media hits; they needed clarity, courage, and communications that moved the needle. So, I built a business that does exactly that: combining big-picture thinking with practical execution to help clients show up with purpose and impact.
What has been one of your best business calls/decisions to date?
One of my best business decisions to date was backing myself and shifting from a traditional PR model to a more flexible, education-led approach—offering DIY, done-with-you, and done-for-you PR options. It allowed me to scale impact, support more women and founders, and stay agile in a changing media and business landscape. It also gave me the freedom to build meaningful partnerships, like SheWill, and launch tools like DanicaB PR in Your Pocket, creating new ways for people to access strategic PR on their terms.
If you do change something about your business - what would it be?
If I could re-do one thing, it would be giving myself permission to go all in sooner. Like many women in business, I waited for the “perfect time” or the “right conditions” before backing my vision fully. In hindsight, the magic happened the moment I stopped playing small and trusted my experience, instincts, and ability to deliver. I’d tell my younger self: start bold, back yourself early, and don’t wait for permission.
What does your typical day look like?
No two days are ever quite the same—but that’s exactly how I like it. A typical day starts early with a moment of calm (and tea - earl grey of course!), followed by a mix of client strategy calls, media pitching, team check-ins, and campaign planning. I might be reviewing a crisis comms response one minute, and crafting thought leadership content the next. In between, I make time for movement whether it’s Pilates, strength training, or ballet and I always try to carve out space to be present with my kids. My days are full, but they’re fuelled by purpose, progress, and the people I get to support.
Your daily motto?
Start with heart, stay grounded in purpose, and let strategy do the heavy lifting.
How do you maintain your motivation?
I maintain my motivation by staying deeply connected to my purpose but also by doing the inner work. I’ve been lucky to work with an incredible internationally acclaimed NLP mindset coach who’s helped me navigate the big stuff: fear, doubt, burnout, even success. Our work together keeps me clear, aligned, and focused not just on what I’m building, but why I’m building it. It’s been a game-changer, not just in business but in how I show up for myself and others.
What projects are coming up next?
Watch this space....
What's your approach on the juggle?
I actually don’t buy into the whole concept of ‘the juggle’ much like I don’t subscribe to the glorification of hustle. For me, it’s all about intent. I choose what I give my energy to, and I approach each part of my life whether it’s motherhood, business, or wellness—with clarity and purpose. It’s not about doing it all; it’s about doing what matters, well.
What do you think is your most transferable skill between motherhood and business?
Tenacity!
What's the best part of being part of the Mums & Co community?
The best part of being part of the Mums & Co community is the genuine connection with women who just get it—the ambition, the challenges, the heart-led hustle. It’s a space where you don’t have to explain the juggle between business and motherhood, because everyone’s living it. There’s a beautiful sense of support, shared wisdom, and collective strength that reminds me I’m not doing this alone.
How has Mums & Co helped you?
Mums & Co has helped me feel seen—not just as a business owner or a mum, but as a woman building something meaningful on her own terms. It’s given me a network of like-minded women who are generous with their knowledge, uplifting in their support, and inspiring in their journeys. Being part of this community has opened doors, sparked collaborations, and reminded me of the power of backing yourself while being backed by others too.
Are there any areas you're seeking help for in your business?
Exposure to gain more clients
What are three things you could help other members with?
I’d love to support other Mums & Co members with: PR and Media Strategy – from crafting your story to pitching it with purpose, I can help you get seen, heard, and remembered in the right places. Crisis Communications – when things go sideways, I offer clear, calm strategies to protect your reputation and rebuild trust.
